Beautiful day in a beautiful setting. I arrived extra early on this Saturday in July. Knowing the beauty of Guntersville State Park I looked forward to a few hours of quiet time, self reflection, and possibly some extra inspiration for the day ahead. I found a nice secluded spot on the cliffs overlooking the lake and sat for a long time. Just as the sun reached it’s crest I found the inspiration I was looking for.
Even though I’ve never seen an American Bald Eagle in flight, the beauty and grace of this majestic bird seemed very familiar. As it soared in great circles, I was struck by the confidence in which it flew. It seemed to somehow know that it’s life had purpose. As I raised my camera to my eye I felt another strong familiarity. In a single click – a single moment – A life of purpose was captured.
That’s not much different from capturing the same moment in the lives of a couple in love. A single moment which marks the beginning of a new life purpose. John and Marla committed to a lifetime together on this day. I can only hope that that they will soar on new wings with the same confidence and purpose as my new feathered friend.
