Leslie and Michael – Wedding

The Battle Friedman House is an antebellum town home located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  The house was built in 1835 by Alfred Battle and his wife, Millicent Battle. The house’s grounds include the only remaining documented antebellum garden in the state, the house itself is noted for its use of monumental boxed columns. The Battle family lived in the house until 1875, when the home was purchased by Bernard Friedman.

When I visit a home like this one, I try to imagine the stories it could tell.   I’m sure that the house has seen more than it’s fair share of both love and tragedy.   But on this particular day,  it was filled with the happiness and joy of wedding festivities.  Leslie and Michael wrote one more chapter in the history of the home as they began a brand new life together.
