A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to shoot an engagement session for the gorgeous Britney and her awesome fiance CJ.   We had a blast!   What a great couple!     CJ told me their story about how they met and eventually became a couple.    I could really tell that he was so proud and deeply in love.   It actually made me tear up a little.  :-)    Congratulations guys!!  I can’t wait for the wedding!!   Be sure to check out the “recent event page” to view their slideshow.

 

 

Jessica and Scott’s Engagement -

I had a great time with Jessica and Scott a few weeks ago.    We spent the afternoon getting to know each other and decided to try someplace “different” for the engagement shoot.   We ended up at the Railroad Museum in Calera.   It’s actually more of a graveyard for old trains.     Then we headed over to the University of Montevallo campus to finish off the day. 

I had a great time guys.  Thanks for being so fun loving!!

Kathryn and Zach - Love at Ozan Winery

The last of the summer wine, A vintage love, a vintage brew, And now my love this toast I give, Thank you for being you. Bill Owen 1914-1999

Even though the growing season has come and gone at Ozan Winery,  it is still easy to see how much love and care has gone into cultivating the exquisite “Morgan Grapes”  grown there.    Even though the vines were brown and dormant,  they are preparing themselves to burst to life and the first hint of spring.

Kathryn and Zach, on the other hand, are in full bloom and bursting at the seams with love for one another.   They plan to marry at the winery on April 18th 2009.

Tai and Johnathan

These guys were awesome!!   I had such a great time spending the afternoon with them. ( Tai - you were beautiful.   Johnathan - You kept me in stitches!!  )  

I always try to play little games with my couples to help them be themselves.   I ask them to do little unexpected things that cause them to drop their guard for just a moment.  A moment that is captured forever.   Johnathan really cracked me up when I told him, “Bite Tai on the ear because it will make her laugh”.   To which he replied,  ”How do YOU know that.   Is there something I should know about you two?”     Johnathan,  I SWEAR there is nothing between me and Tai . . .  :-)

Metallic Teastain

I’m such a geek.   I finally get a day off and what do I do?   I spent the afternoon perfecting a new photo treatment.   I love this one.   It’s not as yellow as sepia and not quite as dark as chocolate.  It’s a little bit contrasty and looks great printed as a metallic print.   If your interested in this treatment,  just ask for “teastained”.

P.S.   I did manage to watch a couple of movies too.   “Sex, Lies and Videotape” has been on my list for years.   Now I know why I never got around to watching it.   It was weird.

Don and Judith

I remember the first time I fell in love. It felt just like the last time I fell in love. It’s so funny how our teenage emotions can still come out even many years after experiencing it for the first time. I guess it’s like a fine wine, growing sweeter with time. It was great fun watching Don and Judith experience youthful puppy love every time they were together. It was a great pleasure to be able to photograph the wedding of these young at heart lovers.
